Rescue Junkie is a 501 (c) (3) animal welfare organization that rescues dogs and cats from high kill shelters in Florida. We are committed to saving as many lives as we can from Putnam County and eventually permanently changing the way that Putnam County operates their “shelter”.

One year ago we started Rescue Junkie, Inc. Our focus then and still remains the animals at Putnam County Animal Control. We’ve come along way since the beginning and currently have 38 animals in our care-14 dogs and 24 felines. That may not sound like many, but we are not a brick-and-mortar shelter facility so all of our animals must go into foster homes until they are adopted. We also rely 100% on volunteer participation and donations from our supporters to take care of these animals on a daily basis. Since August 2014 we have successfully placed over 150 animals. We would like to thank all of you who have shown us great support and a genuine love of the work we do and the animals we save. It definitely takes a village, or in this case a community (or several) working together to accomplish these goals. We are excited for year number TWO as we continue to actively rescue animals in need! God bless!
